AROUND US

Half-way between the Vaucluse and Luberon mounts, Goult is a peaceful and authentic village.
This is a perched village but it has the particularity to be located on a hill and not in the rocks like the other villages in the neighbourhood and it is more discreet.

In the village you will discover two churches placed side by side, one is Romanesque and the other one is Gothic, you will also see the city
walls, fortified doors, and a windmill.

The castle was built on a rock during the 13th century, it was modified during the 17th and 19th centuries. Its surrounding walls were separated in 2 parts by a street.

Outside the village :

Notre Dame de Lumière : The church was built during the 17th century. The crypt was built on a chapel remains.
The chapel of Sainte Véran : it is dedicated to Saint Véran who, according to the legend, catapulted a dragon to the South of Bonnieux and after falling down the monster had dig the valley of Lourmarin.
In any case you have to see the orchre of Luberon that are fascinating. From Roussillon to Gignac, passing by Villars, Gargas and Rustrel, the old ochre pits in the Apt valley in Vaucluse come back in minds, hicking pathways are open, view-points are equipped, the traces of the past are now trendy.

Further:

If you feel like going to Marseille, only 98 kilometres away, you can go to see the rocky inlets, Nôtre Dame of la Garde...And for the more athletic people or those who love football, you can visit the Vélodrome Stadium.
40 kilometres away, Avignon, a town in Vaucluse with its Popes Palace (Palais des Papes in French) and its famous bridge that has never been finished.
